How BidSignal works

How we check Florida bids

Updated November 2026

Every morning we read the public bid sites of Florida's cities, counties, school districts and special districts, the state's bid system and SAM.gov. Then one email goes out with the new bids in each reader's trade and counties.

Free to look. Every new bid free for 7 days, no card, then $29/month.

Florida, with a lamp in each of the 63 counties whose own bid sites we read.

When we check

Once a day, early each morning Eastern time. The run reads every bid site below, stores what changed and sends each email before 7 AM.

What we read

296 bid sites, from the buyers' own pages and the state and federal bid systems. By the kind of buyer:

  • City sites: 182
  • County sites: 48
  • Schools, districts and other: 54
  • State bid system: 11
  • Federal bid system: 1

Local bid sites in 63 of 67 counties. State and federal agencies everywhere.

Unknown means not stated

When a posting leaves out its due date, its pre-bid meeting or its kind, our pages say not stated. We never fill one in from another bid or a typical value.

Every bid count on a page says the day it was counted, and a number we don't have is left out.

Robots.txt, and public pages only

Our reader, BidSignalBot, obeys each site's robots.txt and reads at most one page a second from any one site. It never logs in, never answers a security challenge and never downloads a bid's documents.

The documents stay on the buyer's site, where you download them and send your bid. The email links each new bid there.

What we don't read yet, and why

Some buyers post their bids on platforms whose robots.txt or terms of use rule out automated reading. We read none of them without written permission, so a buyer that posts only there is not in the email yet.

Written permissions on file: none yet.

Counties with no local bid site we read yet: Dixie, Glades, Hardee and Union. The state and federal bids that name them still come in the email.

19 more bid sites are read every morning but left out of every count on this site. They have posted no bid yet, point to a platform we may not read, or turn automated readers away.

The last 10 runs

Of the last 10 runs, 10 were partial, with some bid sites failing that morning. Each row is one morning's run as it recorded itself, newest first.
