Hamilton County posts requests for proposals on its Public Notices page, such as RFP No. 2026-16 for CDBG-DR program implementation and grant administration services. For that RFP, seven copies and one original of the sealed proposal, marked with the project's name, must be received by 4:00 p.m. on December 1, 2026 at the Office of the Clerk of Circuit Court, Hamilton County Courthouse, 207 Northeast First Street, Room 106, Jasper, Florida 32052; anything received later is rejected.

Proposals are publicly opened as soon as possible after the deadline, and the Commission may reject any or all of them. The RFP, which is federally funded, encourages small, minority, women's business, veteran-owned and labor-surplus-area firms to submit proposals. checked Oct 31, 2026

When Hamilton County buyers must bid it out

Hamilton County requires a formal bid for any commodity or service that costs more than $10,000; anything at or under $10,000 may be bought by informal bids or proposals. Above $10,000 the county uses an Invitation to Bid, where bids are evaluated strictly against the bid's terms, conditions, specifications, local preference and bid process; a Request for Proposals for competitive sealed proposals; or an Invitation to Negotiate.

Every purchase goes through the Board of County Commissioners when the line item is budgeted, when a department recommends a vendor for award, and again when payment is approved.
